This publication highlights a crucial period in the career of Farid Belkahia: his return to Morocco in 1962 and his appointment as director of the School of Fine Arts of Casablanca, a position he held until his resignation in 1974.Farid Belkahia advocated the re-appropriation of traditional arts. He surrounded himself with a team that shared his vision including the artists Mohamed Melehi and Mohamed Chabâa, and the art historians Toni Maraini and Bert Flint. These historical figures had evolved in places of modern artistic practice in Europe and North America, and had been exposed to the Bauhaus philosophy.Together, they initiated an innovative pedagogy at the Casablanca School of Fine Arts, which they transformed into an incubator of a modern artistic creation, rooted in local culture, emancipated from academic artistic practices and open to the world. Édition originale, un des 20 exemplaires de tête numérotés sur Vélin d'Arches, comprenant deux sérigraphies originales et trois dessins signés de la main de Houssein Miloudi. Houssein Miloudi a commencé à dessiner à l'âge de 5 ans. Entre 14 et 16 ans, il peint des tableaux en s'inspirant des amulettes et de l'art rural marocain. Sa première exposition remonte à 1968, à Marrakech, à l'âge de 17 ans. Azzouz Tnifass décrit l'artiste en ces termes : « Miloudi est décidément un de nos plus grands peintres. Il est à la hauteur des meilleurs, Gharbaoui et Cherkaoui compris. Il nous faut dorénavant le considérer comme tel, malgré sa timidité apparente qui lui fait fuir les médias tout en le protégeant dans son atelier surplombant l'océan. Il a bien réussi tout seul dans son coin, à donner des apparences à nos mystères et cela va compter dans l'histoire de notre culture. D'ailleurs, les poètes sensibles au sublime, aiment tous le fréquenter. » Les uvres de Miloudi ont intégré plusieurs collections prestigieuses dont le Palais Royal (Espagne), ainsi que diverses institutions et banques marocaines. Ses oeuvres font, également, partie de la collection de Merill C. Berman (Etats-Unis), la ville de Kyoto (Japon). L'oeuvre Fax Against Nuclear Testing figure dans les Archives de l'Histoire à l'Institut International de Droit Social et de l'Histoire (Pays-Bas). Miloudi a été décoré par Sa Majesté le Roi Mohammed VI du Ouissam Royal Al Kafaâ al fikri. Il figure aussi dans la 3ème édition du Who's who in Graphic Art, Zurich (Suisse).
