Short biographies of the Karmapas, with a longer biography in traditional Tibetan style of the 16th Karmpa, with notes about his empowerments. Also the lineages of the Sharmapas and Tai Situ Rinpoches, as well as other important Kagyu lineages. With portrait photographs of all the lineage holders when the book was published. Also, to our knowledge, the only publication that lists all treasures taken by the 16th Karmapa from Tsurphu, which are now in Rumtek, also with quite a few photos of these. Since then no photographs of them have been permitted. Amongst these treasures are a series of statues carved from rhinoceros horn by the 10th Karmapa. Uncommon first (and only) edition.
