Furtherdevelopment of new lightweight hydrogen storagematerials, based on magnesium or carbon,can provide a possible route to highergravimetrical storage capacities. The researchdescribed in this work shows that magnesium-based alloys show excellent reversible and fasthydrogen storage properties with capacities upto 6.7 wt.%. This makes these materials verypromising candidates when consideringapplications where hydrogen storage plays animportant role. The described in-depthinvestigation should help shed some light onthis new and exciting field of lightweightmaterials, and should be especially useful toprofessionals in academic and researchenvironments.
