Diese Bilder verlieren auch nach 100 Jahren nichts von Ihrer Farb-Intensität. Original Carbro-Farbabzüge sind heute sehr selten und gesucht. Dusolina Giannini (1902 in Philadelphia - 1986 in Zürich) war eine US-amerikanisch-italienische Opern- und Konzertsängerin (Sopran). Nickolas Muray (Miklós Mandl; 1892 in Szeged, Ungarn; 1965 in New York City) war ein weltbekannter, amerikanischer Porträtfotograf ungarischer Abstammung. Er stammt aus einer jüdischer Familie. Muray verließ Ungarn um 1910. Er porträtierte später Fred Astaire, Marlene Dietrich, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Claude Monet, Franklin D. Roosevelt, George Bernard Shaw und Frida Kahlo. Wear around sides (see image) and tear to lower right of image, as well as minor staining to top edge. Nickolas Muray was a renowned photographer who shot portraits between 1920-1940, including for Vanity Fair, Vogue, and Harper's Bazaar. Most notably, he shot multiple renowned portraits of his lover, Frida Kahlo, during their ten-year affair.

Nickolas Muray's photographic portrait of the American actor Boyd Marshall. Nickolas Muray (18921965) was a Hungarian-born American photographer and Olympic fencer. Best know for his photographs of Frida Kahlo with whom he had a love affair for ten years in the 1930s. Boyd Marshall (18841950) was an American actor of the stage and screen. Together with his wife, Mitzi Hajos, performed in numerous Broadway shows, among them in "The Magic Ring" in 1923, whose previous title was 'Minnie an' me" which with Mitzi's name is written on the verso of this portrait. . Very slight scratches and trace of a circle pressed to to right edge. Overall in fine condition. Original, vintage black and white photograph. With the embossed seal of the photographer to lower right corner. Titled in pencil on verso.

Vintage gelatin silver contact print photograph 10 x 8 inches. Slight silvering along the edges, light wear at the corners and a subtle dimple near the bottom. Blindstamped "Nicholas Muray, New York" near the bottom right corner. Stamped in ink on the blank reverse "PHOTO BY MURAY" and "MRS. NICKOLAS, 2401 RIVER RD., PT. PLEASANT, NEW JERSEY." Very good. This vintage portrait has remarkable shadow detail and a full and rich tonal range. Vanity Fair commissioned Muray to photograph G. B. Shaw in honor of his seventieth birthday. The portrait session produced 23 negatives. A similar portrait from this sitting was reproduced in the magazine, November, 1926.
