Bien qu'une grande partie du livre soit consacrée à mon séjour dans le désert, à ma préparation et à mon équipement, ce livre est aussi profondément personnel. J'ai fait de mon mieux pour aller au bout de ma passion pour la course à pied et pour la vie. J'espère que le lecteur trouvera divertissant epour celle t inspirant de me suivre depuis ma rencontre avec le mur lors de mon premier marathon jusqu'à l'arrivée de la course de près de 250 kilomètres dans le Sahara marocain. C'est un livre sur le don de la vie, avec ses déceptions et ses moments de désespoir, mais aussi ses triomphes et ses moments sublimes. Je crois que lorsque les rêves se referment, d'autres rêves s'ouvrent, et qu'en se fixant des objectifs et en faisant preuve de discipline, chacun d'entre nous peut modifier son équilibre et arriver là où il le souhaite. Ce qui a commencé comme un livre sur le Marathon des Sables est devenu l'histoire de ma vie.
