Anbieter: Rulon-Miller Books (ABAA / ILAB), St. Paul, MN, USA
Folio, 5 leaves tabular-bound in limp maroon morocco, gilt-stamped title on upper cover; string-tied at the top but string lacking; first leaf toned from the morocco, else near fine. Greetings from 66 employees of the Nicholson File Company on New Year's, 1919, man and women alike, including Paul Coe Nicholson, Wallace Pond, A. J. Dana, and Minnie Lawton. "Samuel Mowry Nicholson, born in Providence, traced his ancestry back to the earliest English settlers of Narragansett Bay. His father and grandfather were both machinists by trade, and following an education in local public and private schools, Nicholson entered the employ of his father's company, Nicholson File Company, at age eighteen. He spent two years studying the mechanical side of manufacturing, followed by a period in the office learning bookkeeping. When his father died in 1893, he was ready to assume the presidency of the company. Nicholson greatly increased the company's output and earnings, despite fierce competition. In about 1903, Nicholson accepted the presidency and management of American Screw Company in Providence, the largest producer of metal screws in the country. Nicholson also served as a city councilman and chairman of the board of Industrial National Bank as well as on a number of boards of directors of local industries" (Brown University).
