Hardcover. Zustand: New. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: New. 1st Edition. Almost all the studies in this volume deal with subjects of Vedic and Indo-European) provenance, i.e. relations of Vedic with Greek, Latin etc. and the fabricated Proto-Indo-European itself. Moreover, all the essays kick off from the RV (Rgveda). They move c…entripetally from the RV to the diverse areas of Anthropology, History, Linguistics, Philosophy, Poetry and Religion, examining one or other aspect from a new perspective and leading to new unexpected conclusions. When the evidences from Sanskrit and the RV are considered, the current theories about, for instance, the origin and development of language and religion are seen to be faulty and in need of thorough revision. In addition, the cumulative evidences from all these different areas (and others) show that the Indo-Aryans are indigenous to India from at least the 7th millennium BCE, that Vedic is much older than any other IE language and closest to the Proto-Indo-European mother tongue and that all past and current IE studies should be scratched and a fresh start be made, if it is still thought to be necessary.

Yes we have here yet another periodical on the Vedic Culture, whose riches seem inexhaustible. For apart from the humility Dirghatamas expresses, we meet many ideas of deep philosophical import as in 3.54.8 which states that the one rules the entire manifest multiplicity, or in 3.55 where the refrain states that single ekam is the great God power asuratvam of the Gods, and so on. We meet also the concept of natural law or Course of nature rta maintaining order in the Cosmos, also aspects of astronomy medicine, metallurgy and crafts like pottery, weaving etc.We have moreover one of the oldest and richest languages of humanity reflecting as no other language does the order seen and praised in nature with its dhatus and their fairly systematic development into nominal declensions and verbal conjugations.
