This large soft cover book (10 ¼ x 12 ¼ inches, unpaginated but including the 100 plates and an Afterword of some 16 pages of text, with comments by the Editor, the List of Plates, Some Notes on the book, Acknowledgements and the Colophon. Please find the following description taken from the back cover of the book: When Georgia O Keefe died in 1986 at the age of ninety-eight, she left behind a monumental creative achievement. Among her most remarkable and acclaimed works was an extended series of paintings on the subject of flowers. No one in the history of Western art has painted flowers as she did. Startling in their sensuality, these images constituted a new language through which O Keefe expressed profound emotions. Here, brought together for the first time from private collections and leading museums, are one hundred of these masterpieces. More than half of them have never before been published; all have been newly photographed especially for this book. Extraordinary care has been taken to render with utmost fidelity the color, scale, and power of O Keefe s art. Condition: This book is in very good condition. There is some edge wear, mainly wrinkles, to the dust jacket which is a softcover-like wrapper protecting the white soft cover. The top of the spine of the dust jacket has a small split which looks like it was repaired. There is one small red mark at the top of the spine of the book, perhaps a seconds mark but it may be a glue residue from the aforementioned repair. Inside, on the front endpaper, there is a former owner s inked name. This is the only mark I found in the book and the pages and plates are clean and bright, from cover to cover. The binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library.
