Consequently the firm was threatened with a disastrous libel suit. Strangeways had not made much headway before somebody's throat was cut on the actual premises of that discreet and reputable firm. The Otterbury Incident
Lewis, C. Day [Cecil Day-Lewis (or Day Lewis) CBE (27 April 1904 - 22 May 1972), often writing as C. Day-Lewis, was an Anglo-Irish poet and the Poet Laureate of the United Kingdom from 1968 until his death in 1972. He also wrote mystery stories under the pseudonym of Nicholas Blake]. Illustrated by Edward Jeffrey Irving Ardizzone, CBE RA (16 October 1900 - 8 November 1979), who sometimes signed his work "DIZ", was a British painter, printmaker and war artist, and the author and illustrator of books, many of them for children.
