Hardcover. Zustand: Good. 1st Edition. A biography of Edward, Prince of Wales, prior to his ascension, and subsequent abdication, of the throne. Edward P.; A New and Intimate Life Story of The Prince of Wales, by Evelyn Graham. Interestingly, the author was in fact Netley Lucas, who was an English confidence trickster, convicted… for obtaining money by false pretences. He adopted a number of personas over the years and appeared in court on numerous occasions. As 'Evelyn Graham' he posed as a well-connected authorised writer of Royal biographies, which was a fiction. Published by Ward, Lock Co., Limited, London and Melbourne. 1929 first edition. Printed in Great Britain. A good dark brown cloth hardback with gilt to spine. With a few marks to the cloth and some bumping to extremities, particularly on the vertical edge of the rear cover. Soundly bound with just a little give in the spine. No owner's inscriptions. Text is bright and clean throughout. Mild spotting to endpapers. The plates present very nicely (all present as called for). Small light marginal facing adhesion marks to p252 spread. Illustrated with high quality photogravure plates. Text in English. 320pp + Plates. Approximate dimensions: 223mm high x 157mm wide x 50mm deep. Weighs approximately 810g (unpacked). More photos on request.
