Grundlage seines Arbeitens ist stets das Foto, das von ihm nicht kopiert, sondern, oft erst nach längerer Zeit, malerisch umgesetzt wird. The motives are first recorded with the help of photography, in close cooperation with photographers. The basis of his work is always the photograph, which he does not copy but, often only after a long period of time, converts into a painting. Signed First Day Cover, 6½" X 3½", cancelled in Fort Valley, Georgia on 23 April 1981 and with "First Day of Issue" boldly stamped. Group of four 18-cent Nesbitt-designed stamp at upper right ("Rose USA," "Camelia USA," "Dahlia USA" and "Lily USA"). Fine. No decorative cachet at left; no distracting recipient's name/address. Near the center at bottom, Nesbitt signs large and bold in blue fineline. Small portion of original transmittal envelope also present.
