The subtitle reads: The acquisition, restoration and care of the Home of Washington by the Mount Vernon Ladies Association of the Union for over half a century. This small hard cover book (5 ¼ x 7 ½ inches, 84 pages) was published by The Mount Vernon Ladies Association of the Union, dated 1932 and the Revised Edition. It is bound in dark red cloth with gilt titles and decorations on cover and spine. There is a tissue-guarded photograph of the East Front of the Mansion as the frontispiece and another half-dozen photographs by way of illustrations throughout the book. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The hard covers show some very slight bumping to the corners and spine tips but are otherwise clean and bright. There is one larger bruise to the top of the spine on the front side and an apparent small smear of residue of some kind mid-spine. An uncommon collection of ten volumes of this society-published periodical. Within, the proceedings and contemporary interests of the Nelson Society, first established in 1981. Decorated with marbled endpapers to volumes one through five. Each volume is comprised of twelve issues, each separated with pieces of colour card. Volume two featuresa folding 1987 letter entitled 'A Tour of Emma's Homeland'. Volume four has been inscribed and signed by author R. C. Fiske, member of the Aylsham Local History Society, to the title page of 'News of Trafalgar and a Lost Portrait' within.
