"The Good Doctor" opened on Broadway November 27, 1973 at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, and ran for 208 performances, closing on May 26, 1974. Hughes was nominated for a Tony award for Best Actress for her role in… the 1961 production of "The Devil's Advocate." Winner of the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play (Frances Sternhagen), and nominated for three others, including Best Original Score (Peter Link and Neil Simon), Best Featured Actor in a Play (Rene Auberjonois), and Best Lighting Design (Tharon Musser). Mustard yellow Studio Duplicating Service wrappers. Title page present, dated November 27, 1973, noted as FINAL DRAFT, with credits for playwright Neil Simon and author Anton Chekhov. 85 leaves, mimeograph duplication.
