Malya Nappi (1915-2003) was born in London 1915 to Italian immigrants who ran a grocery store in Clerkenwell, London's 'Little Italy.' She is probably best known as an actress who appeared in films such as for One Million Years B.C. (1966), but she also lived in Italy and acquired her knowledge of Italian food at first hand. This little book is an introduction to Italian cooking and includes sections on Antipasto, Soup, Fish, Meat, Vegetables, Eggs, Rice, Pizza, and Sweets. The book ends with a chapter on wines and there is an appendix on herbs and spices. The book is bound in the original paper covered boards bearing the same design as the dustwrapper. It is in excellent condition and the contents are tight and clean with no inscription. The unclipped dustwrapper is very good with some shelf wear and slight fading to the spine. The spine ends are lightly bumped with small nicks and the bottom front edge has a crease with small tears. The printed price on the front flap has been crossed out with a later price written beside it.
