John Victory was the Executive Secretary of NASA (formerly NACA) and was its first paid employee, having been hired in 1915. In addition, there is a letter tucked inside from the Real Accademia d'Italia and signed by its president; 10 typed lines which I cannot read because I don't speak Italian A limited edition of 500 copies. This copy is not numbered. 174 plates (single sided, black and white) and 184 pages of text, in Italian. Very good condition. An ambitious and beautiful collection of Italian flight, from balloons to planes. A huge and heavy book with interesting provenance.
