Natural hazards are naturally occurring processes forming an experience to human being depending on where one lives. Floods volcanoes tornadoes bushfires and hurricanes are the possible threats which affect the environment and thus our lives. To find out the outcome of the problem it requires exploring the reason of its origin and the possible antidotes so that it can dwindle to some extent. From the Preface Induced breeding and polyculture of carps are well known technologies being extensively adopted on a large scale in almost all parts of the country. The thrust in aquaculture has led to more demand for quality stocking material. About The Author: Jawaharlal Nehru University ndhi" Title="indiragandhi">Indira Gandhi born in Malaysia and received the Indian name 'Asoka' from Tagore (at Santiniketan) in 1929, grew up in China, and spent 45 years (19551999) in India teaching in Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University and other institutions (from 1958 to 1994). After having served as Head of the Department of Chinese and Japanese Studies of Delhi University, and Chairman of the Centre for AfroAsian Languages and the Centre for East Asian Languages of Jawaharlal Nehru University, and as Professorconsultant and Head of East Asia Research in the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, New Delhi, he now resides at Chicago in retirement. He has authored and edited 19 books (11 in English, 7 in Chinese, one bilingual). His China and the Brave New World and Triton and Dragon have provided useful references for the teaching of 19th century China in India, Hong Kong, Taiwan and other places. His India and China : Twenty Centuries of Civilizational Interaction and Vibrations (coauthored with Prof. Geng Yinzeng of Peking University), is Part 6 of Volume III in the encyclopaedic series of History of Science, Philosophy and Culture in Indian Civilization. The recent Book Tagore and China which he initiated and edited with other scholars breaks new ground in the studies on Tagore as well as on IndiaChina cultural affinity. He was the recipient of Padma Bhushan in 2010 and received the ChinaIndia Friendship Award from Premier Wen Jiabao in the same year. D.N. Gupta obtained M. A. and Ph.
