A good copy in the original engine-turned embossed binding of dark brown leather, decorated in blind with a central medallion within a lozenge frame, this surrounded by two panels containing wavy patterns and a cross-stitch border, the backstrip, which is slightly faded and gilt lettered direct, is in three panels with chevrons in blind, a short split at the head of the front joint, all edge gilt, the front free end-leaf replaced with similar period yellow paper. Library Hub locates 3 other copies in 12mo of this 1848 edition (and one in 8vo). One is bound with the Common Prayer, and a copy in the National Trust libraries also end on P12 but with only 88 pages.
