(p. 67, p. 111, p. 159, p. 186 & p. 325). L. C. M. [Caroline Ann, known as 'Lina' Chaworth Musters ne Sherbrooke, formerly Lowe], (1842 Ð 1912) published a collection entitled 'Book of Hunting Songs and Sport' under her married name of Chaworth Musters as well as 'The Foxhunter's Birthday Book' and a novel entitled 'A Cavalier Stronghold'. She married John Chaworth Musters (1838 Ð 1887) of Annesley Park, Nottinghamshire in 1859. He was at different times master of the South Nottinghamshire hounds and of the Quorn. Harry Cumberland Bentley (1861 Ð 1913), sporting poet and author was famed as the 'Bard of the Pytchley Hunt'. Lina's sister Alice known as 'Lally' married George Eden Jarvis of Doddington Hall, Lincolnshire which is mentioned in the Preface as being the place in which a small pocket book was found that gives an account of the Battle of Dettingen by D. Chapeau [sic] (p. 144-150). The author refers to the Gentleman's Magazine for October 1743 which states that a Lieut. David Chappeau of the Lord Stair's Dragoons was to be promoted. The Duke of Wellington's letters from Portugal written to Sherbrooke and preserved by the family are described in the Preface as 'so characteristic of the man and of the time.'
