He did his Ph.D. in Islamic Studies and M.Phil. in Library and Information Science. He has worked for some time as SPA in HMS Central Library, Jamia Hamdard (Hamdard University), New Delhi, before joining Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) as Assistant Librarian in 2005. He is founder librarian at MANUU College of Teacher Education, Srinagar. In the year 2006, he got selected as Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Library and Information Science at the University of Kashmir, Srinagar, but did not join due to personal reasons. Now, he is discharging his duties as lncharge Library at the library of School of Education and Training, MANUU, Hyderabad.
