Original printed wrappers bound in. = Written by the French palaeontologist and malacologist Charles Philippe Ernest Munier Chalmas (1843-1903), and dealing with Jurassic to Miocene fascies of Vicenza, in northern Italy, with some notes on faunal elements including molluscs and crustaceans. A Notes sur les terrains tertiaires du Vicentin, preceding the main work, was co-authored by the French geologist and malacologist Edmond Hébert (1812-1890). Published as offprint from the Comptes Rendus des Séances de l'Académie des Sciences, volume 85 and titled Série stratigraphique - Vol. I. Stamp erased on front wrapper and title; a few annotations in light pencil; otherwise very good. Very uncommon.

Published in: Journal de Conchyliologie Scarce monograph, with one new species of Scissurellidae from the Paris Bassin Eocene. Written by Charles Philippe Ernest Munier Chalmas (1843-1903), who also had a species of Scissurella named after him. The paper was published at a time, apparently, when the Journal de Conchyliologie was issued in very low numbers. A very scarce offprint of the volume X issue of October 1862, pp. 391-397, and pl. XVI. A very good, nicely bound copy.
