Zustand: Good. 1st Edition. xix(inc.errata slip between vi/vii and f/piece before 'author's introduction')+220, 165 figs. several on unf. plates ex-pagination; ex-University College of North Wales w. their heralDIc plate 'ex libris K.J.P.Orton' on fr. pastedown, sm. faint oval stamp on t.p.& occ. elsewhere but not prominent, ink number verso t.p., edges of endpapers appear water-stained but this, curiously, does not extend elsewhere, v.sl.opening of endpaper gutters, internally tight & unmarked. bROWN CLOTH covers a little grubby w. remnants of lib.no.bottom sp. and sp.label rubbed but no damage beyond routine corner bumping. Apparently quite scarce. An interesting work for historians of science as figs. inc. a number of plans etc. of scientific laboratories in USA and Germany plus some photos. Far from pristine but quite acceptable.…
