Mules and tells the story of the people who live in Westcombe Manor and it's village through the eyes of the keeper at the Manor, George Doggett. In the publisher's original cloth. Externally very smart with marks to the boards, bumping to the extremities of the boards and fading. Minor marks to the endpapers only. Internally firmly bound with front hinge starting after the frontispiece and occasional light scattered spotting, heaviest to the front and rear. Past owner's name written in ink to the front blank. Very Good. book.

The contents clean a nd tight. Publishers cream cloth with vignette in black of the keeper's door to upper board. The cloth soiled and some marks but tight with no splits or chips. The story of a keeper hears of a boy he taught to shoot and fish has earned the Victoria Cross (shooting three of the enemy). Chute 462.
