Hardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. 1st Edition, Limited Edition. Mrozik, Christina and Zoe Keller. Intricacies. Self-published by the artists, [2015]. Original limited edition, signed by both Christina Mrozik and Zoe Keller and hand-numbered 601 of 1,300 copies. Hardcover in pale gray-green cloth with black-stamped titles to the front board and spine. Tall quarto, approximately 10.25 inches by 7 inches. 64 pages. No dust jacket present, apparently as issued. A striking collaborative artist's book presenting highly detailed graphite drawings by Christina Mrozik and Zoe Keller. The compositions combine birds, animals, botanical specimens, anatomical forms, and other elements of the natural world, often incorporating subtle surreal or narrative elements. The illustrated endpapers feature an especially dynamic arrangement of chickadees intertwined with a continuous red cord. The drawings were created collaboratively during 2014, with individual compositions reportedly requiring approximately 30 to 50 hours of combined work. The project was financed through Kickstarter and became the artists' first self-published book. Original drawings from the series were subsequently presented at Antler Gallery in Portland, Oregon. This copy is signed in ink by both artists beneath the limitation statement and numbered 601/1300. A particularly attractive example with strong appeal for collectors of contemporary artist's books, graphite drawing, natural-history illustration, wildlife art, collaborative art, Kickstarter publishing, and Portland-area contemporary art. Condition Description Near Fine. Pale gray-green cloth boards remain clean, evenly colored, and unfaded, with only negligible evidence of handling. Black-stamped titles remain clear and distinct. Corners and spine ends are well preserved. Binding is tight, square, and notably stiff, suggesting that the book has received very little use. Only the first several leaves appear to have been opened with any regularity; the remainder of the volume remains quite firm and has not been forced open for photography. Pages, illustrations, and illustrated endpapers are clean and unmarked. No writing, highlighting, ownership marks, tears, or other notable defects observed. Signed by both Christina Mrozik and Zoe Keller and hand-numbered 601 of 1,300 copies on the limitation/title page.
