Album servant à la vente de produits fins comprenant 769 gravures de flacons de parfumeries et de divers produits cosmétiques : huiles aux fleurs, huiles parfumées, pommades aux fleurs, eaux de senteur, extraits simples, doubles et triples, essences concentrées, eaux de Lavande, eaux de Cologne, parfums à brûler, pommades de moelle de boeuf et graisse d'ours, vinaigre de toilette, poudres, pâtes et eaux dentifrices, savons liquides, etc. Ce catalogue de vente comprend 659 étiquettes, principalement en couleur, mais aussi en noir et blanc pour certaines, toutes collées à la main avec précision sur les superbes gravures des flacons. Sous chaque flacon, le poids du produit en onces et le prix d'achat en gros par douzaine inscrits à la main. Sans date, circa 1873-1880. La famille Mouson a développé une longue expertise au cours des siècles. August Friedrich Mouson (1768-1837) était un savonnier formé. Il est venu à Francfort en tant que compagnon en 1791 où il a travaillé comme directeur d'une savonnerie. À partir de 1798, Mouson a pu gérer l'entreprise sous son nom et pour son propre compte. Son fils Johann Georg Mouson (1812-1894) a développé ensuite la production de parfums et de cosmétiques. Cette célèbre compagnie Mouson s'est distinguée à Londres en 1862 et à Vienne où elle reçut la première médaille du progrès en 1873, tel qu'indiqué en page de titre de l'ouvrage. Les produits de la compagnie Mouson était en vente à Vienne chez Ph. Enders, à Paris chez A. Pillas, et à Londres chez D. Oppenheimer & Cie. Il s'agit ici de l'exemplaire de David Oppenheimer en tant que distributeur de marchandises générales opérant à Londres, dans les Antilles, et en Australie, etc., avec son cachet humide aux pages blanches. This is David Oppenheimer's copy as a general merchandise distributor operating in London, the West Indies, and Australia, etc., with his wet stamp on blank pages. Large catalog of perfumeries and cosmetics illustrated with engravings and labels of the period, with sumptuous samples of their luxury production. Exceptional engravings representing perfume bottles and other cosmetic products, and commercial labels drawn with finesse. The aesthetics of packaging in its most beautiful expression.
