In den WarenkorbUnbound. Zustand: Fine. Exhibition poster, stated first edition. Measuring approximately 19¾" x 26¾". Shrinkwrapped onto foamcore. Unexamined out of shrinkwrapping but, aside from a tiny faint stain near the word "Galley" in the text, appears fine. A nice example of this poster by Stanley Mouse advertising the Joint Show, a 1967… exhibition of five major psychedelic artists (Wes Wilson, Stanley Mouse, Alton Kelley, Victor Moscoso, and Rick Griffin) at San Francisco's Moore Gallery. Each artist created a poster to advertise the show.

In den WarenkorbUnbound. Zustand: Very Good. Flyer. 8.5" x 11". Handbill for a performance illustrated by Stanley Mouse (*Family Dog 23*). Illustration of three well-fed medieval minstrels holding forth with song. The psychedelic lettering has been colored in with red watercolors by an unknown person, somewhat sloppily but not unpleasingly. Sig…ned by Stanley Mouse at the bottom with his "mouse" logo (and not inconceivably colored by him as well). Small tack holes in the corners, overall very good. Accompanied by a press release for Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band, known as The Great Gnome Biography written by Derek Taylor, the Apple Records/Beatles publicist. Ten loose sheets of typed ribbon copy with typed rectos only and stapled in the upper left-hand corner. With the address of Beefheart's management and public relations firms at the end. Fine. The famed rock critic Ralph J. Gleason's copy with his Signature at the top of the first sheet. The ten-page press release about the formation and evolution of the band in the form of a fable about The Great Gnome providing a greasy parchment of names for the band to choose from, with multiple (presumably imagined) quotes from Beefheart (Don Van Vliet), Alex St. Clair, and others. Gleason was a very influential critic of jazz and rock music, and was a founding editor of *Rolling Stone*. An amusing and inventive fable, we can find no evidence of publication, and this could presumably be unique.

In den WarenkorbZustand: Near Fine. Second Printing/First Printing, "B" Variant. Both shows were Fillmore Auditorium events. The Mothers of Invention poster (BG097) was Stanley Mouse's first independent poster in Bill Graham's first series (Mouse is quoted as calling it his "Haiku poem, . a series of visual syllables."). The 2nd Printing was pr…inted after the concert on 8/19/1968 in a print run of 1,250 (an "A" is scratched in between the "h" and the "m" of "Graham", and "#97" was added to the poster just to the right of the Stanley Mouse credit above the date information). The Buffalo Springfield poster was for a pre-Christmas concert and very deliberately avoided holiday tones. It is an early Alton Kelley and Stanley Mouse collaboration at a time when Kelley picked in images and layout and Mouse did the graphics. All three variants of the First Printing were pre-concert. Variant B measures 11" x 21 1/8" and has an "A" scratched into the poster between the "H" and "M" of "Graham". Kelley inscribed the image of this poster. The cut marks are visible. An uncut sheet of a period event(s) is quite rare and this is a handsome copy. Very minimal edge wear, hint of toning at top edge, signed by Kelley in Springfield image, else bright and clean. 22.75"x28.25. Color prints. Second Printing/First Printing, "B" Variant.
