Cloth is a little worn and unevenly faded, gently rubbed on extreme corners and rounded at spine ends. Some spotting on text block edges and first and last few pages else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original worn and chapped but largely complete dust wrapper, rubbed and scuffed on corners and ends of sunned spine. A large collection of stories aimed at the younger reader from a selection of children's authors, including several contributions by Noel Streatfeild herself.

Illustrated in colour and b/w, with carols to cold. e/ps. Original red cloth, gilt, vignette in gilt to upper bd. Lower bd. creased and grubby, spine creased and knocked at head and tail. upper edge of upper bd. bumped, lower extremities sl. worn. Outer edges sl. foxed and sl. grubby. Lower hinge visible and sl. loose. No date, ink inscript. to rear of half-title dated 1949. Some lower corners of pages creased, contents clean and sound. Good only.
