Having begun this current group of listings with an Joyce Tenneson book, I think I will try and stay with the photographer and photograph book theme for a bit. Here s another, titled: Wright Morris Photographs & Words, edited and with an Introduction by James Alinder. This large hard cover book (9 ¾ x 12 inches, 120 pages) was published by The Friends of Photography in association with Matrix Publications, dated 1982 and a probable First Edition (no other editions listed or referenced and no way to tell what this publisher s practices are). The book is bound in a heavy beige cloth with black titles on the cover and the spine. It is protected by a pictorial dust jacket featuring one of Mr. Morris photos. This book opens with a short Introduction by James Alinder which is followed by the text of an article by the Author/Artist, titled: Photography in my Life, pages 15 to 54. The book concludes with, according to the rear flap of the dust jacket, 61 laser-scanned duotone reproductions. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The dust jacket has some edge wear, especially at the corners and spine tips, including small tears and chips; it is also sun-faded on the spine and upper edge. The hard covers are clean, perhaps a bit dust-dulled (hard to tell with this bold weave cloth) and bright, attractive titles. Inside, the book is unmarked and the pages and plates are clean and bright throughout. Both hinges are fully intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
