Erstausgabe Signiert
Softcover. Zustand: Near Fine. First edition, simultaneous wrappered edition. Trade paperback. Some offsetting on the inside front wrappers, else near fine. Inscribed by both the author, and his wife and the dedicatee Phoebe Brand to Tony Award-winning actress Marian Seldes. Laid in is a wonderfully affectionate and amusing letter from Carnovsky to Seldes, mentioning the book. Both Carnovsky and Brand were successful actors until they were named by Elia Kazan as Communists in the HUAC Committee and were both blacklisted. A nice association.

Fotografie
Two vintage photographs of Sidney Lumet directing on the set of the 1962 film. With manuscript annotations and a rubber stamp on the versos of each. Based on the 1955 play by Arthur Miller, about an unhappily married man whose obsession with his niece leads to tragedy when she falls for an immigrant who is staying with them. The first American film to feature a kiss between two men, though ultimately it is an act of accusation against one of the men, rather than a romantic one. Shot on location in New York City, and Rome. 7.5 x 5.5 inches. Near Fine.
