Hardcover. Zustand: Good. Both volumes present, in a custom slipcase. Hardcovers. These appear to be bound in the original gray/blue paper with paper spines. Both volumes in custom dustjackets made from the same cloth as the slipcase. Spines of these jackets stamped with gold labels, "Utopia/Dibdin Edition. Original Boards Uncut. London 1808. Volume 1. Clxxx + 141 pages. Frontispiece portrait of More. Binding is coming apart, with spine strip loose and several signatures detached. It's all still square and clean, but needs to be reassembled. Bookplate on inside front cover of William Charles Flack, and his signature above it. Volume 2. 320 pages. In about the same condition. Also with bookplate and signature. A scarce edition of the classic work, by a well respected printer.…

Printed on Batchleor hand-made paper. 4to., original full beige linen with printed paper label on upper cover, errata slip tipped in plus a spare binding label. Very good copy. Tipped onto the front pastedown is an als dated November 1929 from Pepler to Mr. Frank Glenn about this book as well as details about ordering specially printed notepaper and bookplates. The prospectus is inserted loose and there is a St. Dominic's printed note: "Readers will be interested to know that a copy of this book was presented to Our Holy Father the Pope.".…
