In den Warenkorbhardcover. Zustand: Acceptable. Please see the condition note after this for details, if this is missing please consider Acceptable to mean poor quality that could include major staining, water damage, writing, missing dustjacket, etc etc. Our books are dispatched from a Yorkshire former cotton mill. We list via barcode/ISBN so please note that the images are stock images and may not be the exact copy you receive, furthermore the details about edition and year might not be accurate as many publishers reuse the same ISBN for multiple editions and as we simply scan a barcode or enter an ISBN we do not check the validity of the edition data when listing. If you're looking for an exact edition please don't order (at least not without checking with us first, although we don't always have time to check). We aim to dispatch prompty, the service used will depend on order value and book size. We can ship to most countries, see our shipping policies. Payment is via Abe only.

In den WarenkorbZustand: Acceptable. Most items will be dispatched the same or the next working day. A readable copy. All pages and the cover are intact (dust cover may be missing). Pages can include considerable notes--in pen or highlighter--but notes cannot obscure the text. An acceptable condition book. Heavy chipping and notable wear to the board edges. The book as a whole is slightly bowed. A few tidemark-style marks to the board edges. Signs of foxing and age to the pastedowns and endpapers and textblock edges, and then the internal contents redeem this copy by being clear, tidy and unfaded with a reliable binding. Well-worn on the outside and particularly nice on the inside.

Cloth. Zustand: Very good. The first edition of The Life Of John A. Rawlins by Major General James Harrison Wilson, inscribed by the author to the founder of the NAACP, Moorfield Storey. (illustrator). First Edition. Octavo, 514pp. Blue cloth, title stamped in gilt on spine and front cover. No additional printings noted. Frontispiece portrait with tissue cover. (Nevins II, 101) (Howes W-528) Presentation card affixed to the front paste down, inscribed by the author: "To My Friend Moorfield Storey /James H. Wilson." Moorfield Storey (1845-1929) was an American lawyer, civil rights leader, and anti-imperialist. He was the founding president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), serving from 1909 until his death. Storey was a staunch advocate for civil liberties and racial equality, working tirelessly to challenge segregation and disenfranchisement laws. He argued several significant cases before the Supreme Court, including Buchanan v. Warley in 1917, which struck down racial zoning laws. Additionally, Storey was a vocal opponent of American imperialism, criticizing U.S. policies in the Philippines following the Spanish-American War. Signed.
