In den WarenkorbHardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Fanny Hill: Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure by John Cleland is one of the most famous and controversial works of eighteenth-century English literature. Presented as the candid memoirs of a young woman navigating love, desire, and society, the novel became notorious for its erotic content while also gaining recognition for its lively prose and historical significance. This full unexpurgated edition preserves the complete original text, making it especially appealing to collectors and readers interested in literary history and censorship. A landmark and highly collectible classic of eighteenth-century fiction.

Hardcover. Zustand: Very good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Very good. John Sopinski (Graphics) (illustrator). 80 pages. Illustrations (color). Photo Credits. DJ has slight wear and soiling. Much of the material for this book was first gathered for a newspaper series that was published in The Kansas City Star on July 2-5, 1995. Julius Karash is a graduate of University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism with extensive daily newspaper reporting experience, including at the Kansas City Star and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. He co-authored of TWA: Kansas City's Hometown Airline. His current work includes writing news releases, newsletters, white papers and magazine articles. I also help clients place articles and columns in publications and on Web sites. His reporting was the Society of Business Editors and Writers, when it recognized the Kansas City Star business desk for general excellence in the 2008 Best in Business competition. Rick Montgomery was a national correspondent for the Kansas City Star who joined that newspaper in 1986. Trans World Airlines (TWA) was a major American airline from 1924 until 2001. It was formed as Transcontinental & Western Air to operate a route from New York City to Los Angeles via St. Louis, Kansas City, and other stops, with Ford Trimotors. With American, United, and Eastern, it was one of the "Big Four" domestic airlines in the United States formed by the Spoils Conference of 1930. Howard Hughes acquired control of TWA in 1939, and after World War II led the expansion of the airline to serve Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, making TWA a second unofficial flag carrier of the United States after Pan Am. Hughes gave up control in the 1960s, and the new management of TWA acquired Hilton International and Century 21 in an attempt to diversify the company's business. As the Airline Deregulation Act of 1978 led to a wave of airline failures, start-ups, and takeovers in the United States, TWA was spun off from its holding company in 1984. Carl Icahn acquired control of TWA and took the company private in a leveraged buyout in 1988. TWA became saddled with debt, sold its London routes, underwent Chapter 11 restructuring in 1992 and 1995, and was further stressed by the explosion of TWA Flight 800 in 1996. In 2001, TWA filed for a third and final bankruptcy and was acquired by American Airlines. American laid off many former TWA employees in the wake of the September 11, 2001 attacks and closed its St. Louis hub in 2003. First Edition [stated], presumed first printing.

More than 300 illustrations and photographs accompany the story of pivotal events and the details of student life from the first classes held on the Georgia frontier in 1801 through the impact of the Civil War and Reconstruction, the admission of women in 1918, and the construction of a new east campus. This new edition features an in-depth chronicle of the University of Georgia's rapid growth during the past decade and describes the effects of the expansion of the student body and faculty, the burgeoning athletic program and its new emphasis on women's sports, and the administrations of Charles Knapp and Michael Adams. From landmark changes to little-known events and curious facts, A Pictorial History of the University of Georgia presents a complete portrait of the school that blends educational innovation and cultural diversity with long-standing traditions.
