Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - The study of formal languages and of related families of automata has long been at the core of theoretical computer science. Until recently, the main reasons for this centrality were connected with the specification and analy sis of programming languages, which led naturally to the following ques tions. How might a grammar be written for such a language How could we check whether a text were or were not a well-formed program generated by that grammar How could we parse a program to provide the structural analysis needed by a compiler How could we check for ambiguity to en sure that a program has a unique analysis to be passed to the computer This focus on programming languages has now been broadened by the in creasing concern of computer scientists with designing interfaces which allow humans to communicate with computers in a natural language, at least concerning problems in some well-delimited domain of discourse. The necessary work in computational linguistics draws on studies both within linguistics (the analysis of human languages) and within artificial intelligence. The present volume is the first textbook to combine the topics of formal language theory traditionally taught in the context of program ming languages with an introduction to issues in computational linguistics. It is one of a series, The AKM Series in Theoretical Computer Science, designed to make key mathematical developments in computer science readily accessible to undergraduate and beginning graduate students.

Staplebound. Zustand: Good. 245, [1] pages plus covers. Footnotes. Tables. Figures. References. Small tears at bottom edge of page 232, ink notation and stamp on rear cover. Includes Introduction, Reference Three-Level MOFF Design, Proposed Modifications to Reference Design; Identification of Theft and Sabotage Targets in a Representative Design; Two-Level Alternate to Reference Deign; References. Also includes PuO2 Processing for Storage, Design Criteria, Reference Design Layout, Plutonium-Dioxide Storage Vault, Plutonium-Dioxide Pressure-Vessel Venting and Canister Unloading Design Criteria, Reference Design, Comments, Plutonium-Dioxide Bulk Blenders, Reference Design, Emergency Generator Station, Scrap Removal Facilities, Manufacturing Building Entrance Portal, Miscellaneous Facility Changes, Emergency Evacuation System for Reference Three-Level Mixed-Oxide Facility; OSHA Safety and Health Standards, Personnel Monitoring Equipment List for Personnel Gatehouse; Proposed Modifications to Reference Design; Integration of Plant Operations Control into Central Control Module. This volume describes the three-level reference mixed-oxide fuel fabrication facility including personnel and vehicle gatehouses and the emergency evacuation system. Proposed modifications to the reference design such as impact considerations of MOX feed and integration of Plant Operations Control into the Central Control Module are potential design upgradings. A two-level alternative design also is presented. The first safeguards system (INFCIRC/26) was established on March 30, 1961. The Sandia National Laboratories (SNL), managed and operated by the National Technology and Engineering Solutions of Sandia (a wholly owned subsidiary of Honeywell International), is one of three National Nuclear Security Administration research and development laboratories in the United States. Their primary mission is to develop, engineer, and test the non-nuclear components of nuclear weapons and high technology. It is Sandia's mission to maintain the reliability and surety of nuclear weapon systems, conduct research and development in arms control and nonproliferation technologies, and investigate methods for the disposal of the United States' nuclear weapons program's hazardous waste. Other missions include research and development in energy and environmental programs, as well as the surety of critical national infrastructures. In addition, Sandia is home to a wide variety of research including computational biology, mathematics (through its Computer Science Research Institute), materials science, alternative energy, psychology, MEMS, and cognitive science initiatives. Sandia formerly hosted ASCI Red, one of the world's fastest supercomputers until its recent decommission, and now hosts ASCI Red Storm, originally known as Thor's Hammer. Sandia is also home to the Z Machine. The Z Machine is the largest X-ray generator in the world and is designed to test materials in conditions of extreme temperature and pressure. It is operated by Sandia National Laboratories to gather data to aid in computer modeling of nuclear guns. Presumed First Edition, first printing thus.
