V predlagaemoj monografii avtorom rassmatrivayutsya aktualnye problemy borby rossijskikh organov federalnoj sluzhby bezopasnosti s organizovannoj prestupnostyu. Organizovannaya prestupnost issledovana kak sotsialnoe yavlenie sovremennogo rossijskogo obshchestva, nesushchee ugrozu natsionalnoj bezopasnosti Rossii. V rabote issledovany osnovnye kharakteristiki ugroz zhiznenno vazhnym interesam rossijskogo obshchestva, gosudarstva, voznikayushchikh vsledstvie deyatelnosti prestupnykh soobshchestv i organizatsij. Znachitelnoe mesto v monografii zanimaet rassmotrenie problem, svyazannykh s organizatsiej borby organov federalnoj sluzhby bezopasnosti s mafioznymi formirovaniyami.

Hardcover. Zustand: Very good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Very good. Presumed First Edition, First printing. 440 pages. Table of Contents at rear. Illustrations. References. DJ has slight wear and soiling. Includes a letter (pasted in rear end page) signed, in September 2002, by Robert Reinovsky and Irvin Lindemuth of the Los Alamos National Laboratory to a senior Department of Energy Official presenting this copy of "High Energy Densities" as a token of appreciation. The book makes available to the global scientific community for the first time a collection of scientific papers on high energy density research conducted by scientists form the formerly top-secret institution that designed the first nuclear weapons of the Soviet Union. Over the course of the half-past century, the development of nuclear weapons in Russia has given rise to new areas of fundamental and applied scientific research in mathematics, chemistry, and physics, including: Material properties at high temperature and pressure; radiative energy transfer; the gas dynamics of explosive processes; hydrodynamic turbulence; nuclear and neutron physics; controlled thermonuclear fusion; high-speed diagnostics. Although this work was conducted under conditions of high secrecy, much of the work has now been declassified. In addition to the historical perspective it provides, the book is published in the hope that the scientific advancements of some of Russia's best scientists can be incorporated into scientific endeavors that benefit all mankind. This book has been dedicated to the 50-th anniversary of the Russian Federal Nuclear Center - All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Experimental Physics as Sarov (formerly Arzamas-16). Therefore, it presents items that directly cover the continuing work of the Institute.Robert E. Reinovsky is a program manager and former group leader at LANL where he continues to advocate and lead science and technology cooperation in pulsed-power-based high-energy-density physics and other areas with VNIIEF and Russian institutes. He is one of the founders of the collaboration with VNIIEF. Dr. Irvin Lindemuth is by many measures considered to be the "father" of the Magnetized Target branch of fusion energy research and proposed solutions to commercial power. Recognizing that the facility cost was a large component of the R&D cost which was the principal impediment to the progress of fusion development at the time, around the mid-1990's, Drs. Irv Lindemuth, Richard Siemon and Kurt Schoenberg of Los Alamos National Laboratory began to examine the cost of developing various fusion concepts in a fundamental way. The fusion parameter space is spanned by two basic plasma parameters, namely the plasma density and the magnetic field embedded in the plasma, which govern the physics of attaining fusion burn.
