Hardcover. Zustand: Fair. The cover has green cloth, a goldtone title block, and embossed decoration. The two frontispieces are on plates: a b/w portrait of G. Washington, by J. DeMare, and a b/w illustration of Mt. Vernon. The plates have foxing on the bottom margins and have a dark water stain on the top margins. The spine strip has 1 in. of cloth missing and is chipped on the top and bottom ends. Cloth is missing from about a third of the boards' edges. The endpapers' folds are split, but tipped back together with glue.The tears remain noticeable. Scans e-mailed upon request. Standard shipping cost in the U. S. will be reduced.
