In den Warenkorbpaperback. Zustand: Good. Our good condition books are generally good for reading but not for gifting or collecting. They could have imperfections such as creasing, fanning, inscriptions, margin notes, yellowing, staining on edge or cover or pages, bumps, scuffs, etc etc (sometimes multiple of these). It's a wide category that encompasses anything that isn't almost-new down to anything that is slightly better than poor. We would NOT recommend gifting Good books - these should be considered reading copies. Our books are dispatched from a Yorkshire former cotton mill. We list via barcode/ISBN so please note that the images are stock images and may not be the exact copy you receive, furthermore the details about edition and year might not be accurate as many publishers reuse the same ISBN for multiple editions and as we simply scan a barcode or enter an ISBN we do not check the validity of the edition data when listing. If you're looking for an exact edition please don't order (at least not without checking with us first, although we don't always have time to check). We aim to dispatch prompty, the service used will depend on order value and book size. We can ship to most countries, see our shipping policies. Payment is via Abe only.

Gebundene Ausgabe, 4°. Zustand: Sehr gut. 1. 288 S. Das Buch ist in sehr gutem, sauberen Zustand. Einband minimal berieben. Sonst sauberes und wohlerhaltenes Exemplar. -----Inhalt:. Franco Viola  paints landscapes based on sketches he produces during tours in the mountains and along the coast near his hometown. During the painting process in the studio, the sketches are enriched and supplemented by his memories of things he has personally perceived or of paintings from the treasure trove of art history. This book deals less with the resulting works as such and more with the everyday life of a contemporary painter in todays Italy, taking Viola as an example. What exactly does it mean to go to the studio every day and stand in front of a canvas? What is the relationship between contemporary life and what becomes visible as color and form on the canvas? On a journey through the artists world, readers are invited to pursue these and other questions while immersing themselves in Violas intensely colorful paintings.FRANCO VIOLA (*1953 Gaeta) graduated from the University of Rome in 1977 with a degree in electrical engineering and worked for a long time in research on spatial theory before devoting himself entirely to art in the mid-1990s.FRANCO VIOLA (*1953 Gaeta) graduated from the University of Rome in 1977 with a degree in electrical engineering and worked for a long time in research on spatial theory before devoting himself entirely to art in the mid-1990s. 4°, 229 S., zahlr. farb. Abb., Kart., Untere Ecke bestossen, Läsur in vord. Rückenkante u. a. vord. Vs., innen sonst tadellos. Erschienen anlässlich der Ausstellung. Text engl. - «Yelena Vorobyeva was born 1959 in Balkanabat (former Nebit Dag), Turkmenistan. Viktor Vorobyev was born 1959 in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan. They live and work in Almaty. Yelena and Viktor Vorobyev have been working together since 1990s. Their usage of different genres and techniques results in multi-layered, often ironic, works focussing on Post-Soviet realities of constant change, disorientation and their effects on everyday life. The artists have been compiling a precise record of the ephemeral and quotidian details of daily life, local particulars, subjects that have been often overlooked and are not exactly photogenic. They do so in series, sorting images according to their typology. While seemingly insignificant, these details (of objects, colours and customs) are integral to the creation of the new symbols of power, and serve as poignant social metaphors. The pair engages deeply with the environment they live in, examining its socio-cultural underlining, using a light and humorous approach. In 2015 Aspan Gallery has staged Vorobyevs' mid-career restrospective The Artist is Asleep at the A. Kasteev Museum of Arts, Almaty, curated by Viktor Misiano. Notable recent group shows include Viva Arte Viva, 57th Venice Biennale (2017), 8th Asia-Pacific Triennale in Brisbane (2015), BALAGAN!!! in Berlin (2015), The Beast and the Sovereign at MACBA in Barcelona and Württembergischer Kunstverein in Stuttgart (2015), 1st Kyiv Biennale (2012), 14th Sculpture Biennale of Carrara (2010) and Central Asia Pavilion at the Venice Biennale (2009, 2005).» 1600 gr. 4°, 208 S., zahlr. farb. Abb., Kart., Untere Ecke min. gedrückt, sonst tadellos. Erschienen anlässlich der Ausstellung. Text engl. - «On 12 February 2015 ?Eternal Return?, the first solo museum show of contemporary Kazakh artist Yerbossyn Meldibekov, opened at the A. Kasteev Museum of Arts in Almaty. This project was initiated by the Aspan Gallery in partnership with ForteBank. The exhibition is curated by Viktor Misiano, curator of the first Central Asia pavilion at the 2005 Venice Biennale. This exhibition is the first of a series of monographic exhibitions celebrating Central Asia's leading contemporary artists, including Yelena Vorobyeva and Viktor Vorobyev, Gulnara Kasmalieva and Muratbek Djumaliev, Almagul Menlibayeva, Said Atabekov and Vyacheslav Akhunov. Yerbossyn Meldibekov?s exhibition title ?Eternal Return? has several meanings. First, it points to the specificity of Meldibekov's works, who since the beginning of his career has been in a constant dialogue with his artistic heritage. Many of these works are linked to the classical examples of European painting and sculpture, while others are related to the traditional and contemporary art of Central Asia. Secondly it refers to the search for national roots, one of the main goals of Meldibekov's art. Traditional culture has inspired the artist not only to change and renew, but also to repeat and return. Finally, ?Eternal Return?is crucial to understanding the destiny of Central Asia, where, according to Meldibekov, historical processes do not follow a linear progression but move in circles and constantly repeat themselves. We should not forget that this view of history was suggested at the dawn of Modernity by Friedrich Nietzsche, whose term ?eternal return?Meldibekov makes use of. The exhibition concept ?the appeal to art as a self-referential cycle of forms and themes ?is reflected in the idiosyncrasy of its installation. Meldibekov?s works are presented at the museum not only in its temporary exhibitions rooms but also among pieces from its permanent collection, placing contemporary art into direct dialogue with works of the ancient and recent past. Although his works have been widely exhibited in the most prestigious art institutions worldwide, ?Eternal Return? represents Meldibekov?s first comprehensive solo exhibition in his home country of Kazakhstan. This exhibition presents visitors with the opportunity to view all the facets of Meldibekov?s multimedia and diverse practice, from sculpture and installation to video, performance and photography. Famous and critically acclaimed works by the artist, such as Black Square (2004), Transformer (2013), Contest (2010-2013, in collaboration with Boris Golender) and Fog (2011) are presented in Almaty for the first time, alongside his new works Brezhnev-Giacometti (2015), One-Day Visa (2014), Spit (2014), Stamp (2014-2015), Self-Portrait with My Idols (2014-2015) and Phantom Invasion (2015) created especially for the exhibition.» 1600 gr.
