As their stories within stories unfold, a magnificent world is revealed of courtly intrigue and romance, fairies and djinn, oriental gardens and lavish feasts, adventures and mishaps. A Tale of Four Dervishes (1803) is an exquisite example of Urdu fiction that provides a fascinating glimpse into the customs, beliefs and people of the time. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.

Hardcover. Zustand: Good. Hardcover. Brown cloth over boards with brown leather spine and a burgundy label on the spine with gold lettering. This book has clearly been rebound somewhat recently. The covers are much newer than the inside pages. Pages within are toned and foxed. Text appears to be in Hindi. No date on title page. Forward is dated 1846, spine is dated 1849. 120 pages. The covers, new as they are, are in good condition. The corners are crisp and the boards free of rubbing. The label is peeling off in one corner on the spine. Pages are toned and foxed, uneven. Binding is tight. Extensive writing across the title page and the blank page opposite. Includes a small translation glossary in the back.
