Die dritte, letzte und maßgebliche Ausgabe der frühen kunsthistorischen Monographie über die Kathedrale von Ely in Cambridgeshire, "The Cathedral Church of The Holy and Undivided Trinity" - eines der emblematischten gotischen Kirchenbauten Englands. Begonnen im 11. Jahrhundert als normannisch-romanischer Bau wurde sie im überbordenden gotischen Dekorationsstil als einer der größten Kirchenbauten der Insel fertiggestellt. Die prächtigen Tafeln zeigen Ansichten, Grund- und Aufrisspläne sowie zahlreiche Baudetails. Von besonderem kunsthistorischen Interesse sind die Darstellungen, Beschreibungen und der gegenüberstellende Vergleich der Langhaus- und Transept-Wände. Die erste Ausgabe war 1807, die zweite 1808 in London erschienen. Tafeln teils etwas gebräunt bzw. braunfleckig, jedoch mit allen vorhandenen Seidenhemdchen, Text nahezu makellos sauber, gedruckt auf festem, unbeschnittenen Papier. Sehr schönes Exemplar.
