Also, the reasons for implementing ethical action into daily business are explained more detailed and questions of why the management has to behave socially responsible are tackled. The transformation from a planned to a market-economic system has lead to the opening of previously closed markets. Since 1989 this region is not only a new market to sell to, but also a place to produce. And especially western-European enterprises might benefit from this due to short distances, which help to integrate these locations into a worldwide firm-strategy. European companies now have got the same possibilities like the US or even Japan to produce cheaper directly at their doorstep. However, the integration of ECE does not simply mean the extension of western markets to an eastern location. There is much more such as the complete restructuring of western production chains. Or in other words, there is a dual process of transformation (east) and structural change (west).This report focuses on Poland and its foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows since 1989. In order to evaluate the importance of FDI for Poland, three guideline questions are asked: (1) Why do companies invest in general in foreign areas (2) Why received this specific country capital from international investors And (3) finally, to what extent and in which sectors have foreign investors invested Therefore, a core model in economics was used to solve these questions: the concept of ownership-, location- and internalisation-specific advantages.One does not know what future might bring. But for sure Poland has tried to find its position within a new world order. After centuries of dependence, this county now seems to be willing to search for a bright future. Therefore FDI are seen to help to stabilize and to develop that country. And even the short period of time since 1989 might underline this, too.

For this, laureate Kahneman et al developed the prospect theory which is assumed to describe people's economical behaviour better than traditional theories.Therefore the essay elaborates on the concept of behavioural finance and econom-ics as well as it checks, whether the homo economicus has mutated to this. How-ever, although there is criticism, the hypothesis is humans are bounded rational and therefore only conditioned able to be described as homo economicus.To gain insight, a brief introduction on theory, homo economicus and recent ob-servations of efficiency in human action and rationality is given. Later the concept of behavioural finance and economics is brought in and findings in human behav-iour are discussed together with examples from heuristics, economical framing and anomalies. Finally, an assessment of essay and hypothesis sums all up.

They were massively funded and specifically equipped to fulfill their tasks for the best possible outcome. But over the last decades civilian, mostly non-governmental, actors did show up for nation-building as well. These organizations eventually demanded the right to participate - and than had to deal with urgent reconstruction issues as well. For this the question is how these - civilians and military personnel - work and win 'wars' together when they have to. Based on Afghanistan, the pa-per points on the ever more used concept of civil-military cooperation from the perspective of the military. To gain insight, four different approaches (UN, NATO, US, Germany) are de-scribed and explained. The context of the paper is formed by background-information on the current missions in Af-ghanistan, Operation Enduring Freedom and International Security Assistance Force. And to get an impression of the cooperation, the paper overlooks the successful Provincial Recon-struction Teams. The hypothesis of the paper is that successful civil-military cooperation is assumed to be a vital part in the stabilization-process in Afghanistan. This is due to the broad meaning that the different deployed actors put onto it. And, especially the featured military forces / bodies have changed within the last decade.

In recent years, however, this view has changed since the pollution of the sea became an ever serious problem. Fairly cleaned liquids as well as various waste-pieces have massive implications on the maritime life. In addition, intentionally discharged as well as accidentally released oil-products propose a huge challenge to the global community.Therefore the essay elaborates on this ecological issue with focus on oil-tankers as well as it lists up international actions taken against it. These are regime-induced (MARPOL 73/78) modifications at the ships itself such as load on top, segregated and protectively located ballast tanks, crude-oil-washing and double-hulls. The hypothesis of the paper is that the international measures taken have been adequate in general and changed the discharging habits of the industry lastingly. The agreements also seem to have made it possible to have the oceans nowadays less polluted than it assumably would have been without them. Therefore, apart from minor potential future corrections, the international regime for protecting the oceans against the pollution from oil-tankers was rather successful.

Die technische Entwicklung und der Wiederaufbau hätten wohl ohne einen in der Wirtschaft stark agierenden Staat nicht so schnell und erfolgreich bewerkstelligt werden können. Diese Spezialsituationen waren aber klare Ausnahmen. Dazu wird im vorliegenden Essay Stellung bezogen. Es wird gezeigt, dass Kosten eingespart, Erlöse generiert und die öffentlichen Verwaltungen wieder effizienter werden können, indem alle nicht primär staatlichen Aufgaben dem Privatsektor zur Durchführung überlassen werden. Ferner wird eine Abgrenzung zwischen Regulierung, Deregulierung, und Privatisierung vorgenommen sowie die einzelnen Aktionen a praktischen Beispielen erläutert.Darüber hinaus argumentiert der Autor, dass die Formen der Kooperation zwischen öffentlicher Hand und privaten Unternehmen in Zukunft dort verstärkt genutzt werden sollten, wo sie mit den Vorteilen einer echten materiellen Privatisierung verbunden sind. Insbesondere mit Betreibermodellen, bei denen Private das Investitionsrisiko mit übernehmen, böten sich attraktive Möglichkeiten. Der Staat kann so entlastet und Zeit- und Effizienzgewinne erreicht werden. Die Übernahme von Planung, Erstellung, Betrieb und Finanzierung öffentlicher Projekte durch Private einschließlich der damit verbundenen Risiken öffnet dem Markt endlich bisher vorenthaltene Möglichkeiten.
