La prima p…arte è dedicata dall'autore (lettore di diritto a Pavia, chiamato da Emanuele Filiberto a Mondovì nel 1561) alla duchessa di Savoia Margherita di Valois; la seconda a Giovanni Battista Lercaro, doge di Genova. Rara ed importante cinquecentina piemontese d'interesse giuridico; essa analizza e commenta le varie disposizioni circa la maniera di recuperare territori perduti; la seconda parte contiene vari pareri circa il contenzioso tra la Repubblica di Genova ed Alfonso del Carretto, marchese del Finale. D'interesse è anche il luogo di stampa: nel 1562 il Duca Emanuele Filiberto incaricò il celebre editore Lorenzo Torrentino di stabilire una tipografia in Piemonte, ed in particolare a Mondovì, che lamentava quarant'anni di assenza di imprese editoriali; Lorenzo morì prima che il progetto potesse essere realizzato, ma il figlio Leonardo vi stampò una trentina di volumi sino al 1576.
