This edition was translated from the second edition of the Grundsätze, edited by Carl Menger's son,by R. Broglio D'Ajano, and continued by N. Bonelli due to d'Ajano's death halfway through. First Thus.With a preface by Maffeo Pantaleoni.Principles of Economics was one of the first treatise to advance the theory of marginal utility: the idea that the marginal utility of goods, rather than labour inputs, is the source of their value; a theory which solved the diamond-water paradox, which sees mankind finding diamonds more valuable than water, although water is far more important.
