Joseph Mélèze-Modrzejewski ( 1930 in Lublin als Józef Modrzejewski; 2017 in Châtenay-Malabry) war ein französisch-polnischer Rechtshistoriker, Papyrologe und Hochschullehrer. Mélèze-Modrzejewskis Forschungsschwerpunkte lagen vor allem in der hellenistischen und antik-griechischen Rechtsgeschichte und der Romanistik. Dies umfasste auch die Rechtsstruktur und den Umgang mit Minderheiten Ägyptens in der ptolemäischen und römischen Zeit, wozu er einen rechtspluralistischen Standpunkt vertrat. Sein Betätigungsfeld erstreckte sich lokal auch auf andere Gebiete des Hellenismus und des östlichen Mittelmeerraumes. Ferner widmete er sich den antiken griechischen Inschriften bis hin zu den Papyri der byzantinischen Epoche.
