Hardcover. Zustand: Good. Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Fibrin sealant is used for numerous indications in gynecology, especially for the McIndoe Operation and Cohn biopsy, the Marshall-Marchetti-Krantz-Hirsch-Stoll-Operation, urethrocysopexy, or in vitro fertilization for embryo transfer. The use of fibrin sealant in urology has also been extended, especially in operations of the spermatic cord, reconstruction of the urethra and closing of nephrotomies. The use of fibrin glue in gynecological and urological surgery is an established procedure. An international team of authors offers an update review including the most recent possibilities for applying fibrin sealants, e.g. in reconstructive urological surgery.…

Zustand: New. KlappentextThis book is inspired by academic mothering before and through the COVID-19 pandemic. Featuring diverse enactments of mothering, the authors critique academia s systemic failures, in the pandemic and beyond, fabulating futures.

Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Inspired by those who mothered before and through the COVID-19 pandemic, this is a book about, for, and with those who live different embodiments of academic mothering--mothers, othermothers, academic mothers, and mothering academics. In this book, mothering is defined broadly, encompassing those who are biologically or legally mothers with children; those who are 'not-mother' but who nonetheless understand and practice mothering; those who do identify as mothers but not as women; and all those who take on mothering roles in academia and beyond. Through poetry and prose, fiction and nonfiction, image and text, the authors in this edited book creatively explore academic mothering through their unique lived experiences, illuminating three ideas that comprise the three sections of this book: mothering as practice, mothering in precarity, and mothering as relational. Through considering--and in many cases, writing about and through--their own mothering practices, this diverse collection of authors critique the systemic failures of academia in the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond, fabulating new possibilities that envision a future in which mothering is valued and supported in (and by) higher education.…

Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Once urology was established as a medical specialty, the initial anatomic-morpho logical point of view was soon supplemented by functional considerations and diagnostic procedures, thanks to the introduction of the cystoscope (NrTzE, 1877) and retrograde pyelography (VOELCKER, ]OSEPH and VON LrCHTENBERG, 1903). Intravenous urography (VOLKMANN, 1924; VON LrCHTENBERG, PFLAUMER and SWICK, 1929) lent roentgen examinations a more functional aspect. The word 'urodynamics' refers to the functional approach to the urinary trac- from the renal pelvis and calyces, the ureter and bladder down to the bladder neck and urethra. The embryologically denned topographie regions of the urogenital tract are peripheral relays, while the actual site of action of both normal and patho logical urodynamics is to be found in the various hollow muscular organs. Despite extensive basic research and much knowledge acquired in this neld, the active transport system between site of production and storage, i. e. the renal pelvis and ureter, is still regarded in clinical practice mainly from the anatomic-morphological viewpoint. It is not easy to obtain adequate information for the clinical assessment of functional disturbances of the ureter. For instance, retrograde exploration methods may often be complicated by infection. Clinically applicable methods for functional assessment of the upper urinary tract are (RUTISHAUSER): direct observation of the ureteral orinces, intravenous and retro grade visualization by roentgen contrast medium, sequential pyelography, roentgen kymography, and cinematography. Such methods allow good functional exploration by an experienced investigator but they yield hardly any objectively reproducible records.…
