DJ is cream with black lettering and a photograph of Dame Melba on front. DJ is in poor condition; front flap torn 2/3 from bottom, chipping to edges, open tears to head of spine which also has dark discoloration from aging. Both flaps have been clipped. Covers show signs of shelf wear, especially to head of spine which has a closed tear to the cloth. Corners lightly bumped. Gold lettering on spine; tree logo imprinted on front cover reading "Doran Company." Front gutter is cracked, foxing to all early pages. Frontispiece of Melba as Marguerite in a photograph by Baron de Meyer. Foxing throughout majority of textblock. Features black and white photographs throughout.
