Paperback. Zustand: New. Language: English. ABOUT THE BOOK: The Dalit Discourse, in India have occupied significant place in the discipline of literature as well as in the discourse of social sciences. Like any other socially active discourse, this is also dynamic and keeps engaging with newer ideas and themes. The literary expression of political consciousness, and movements among or for the Dalits across India is the new emerging trend. This trend has served enormously to the cause and widened its constituency. The present book explores relationship between politics and literature with a critical analysis of texts from the Hindi literature both by Dalits and non Dalits. It underlines not only the major issues and concerns of the literature, but also to demonstrate that political consciousness is also expressed through many more innovative and creative methods like art and literature. This book also claims to be a provocative and thoughtful account of the debates among Dalit writers on how Dalit literature should be approached. About The Author: Parmod Kumar is presently Assistant Professor in the Faculty of English at Indira Gandhi National Open University. He has done his doctoral research on the domestication and insurrection of marginalised voices in Indian English Literature. He also edits an ejournal Sangharsh which puts to center all academic and social issues related with Dalit Discourse. He has been a proud recipient of Australia India Council Fellowship and has worked extensively on the perspectives in indigeneity in India and Australia.
