Limited edition, number 128 or 250. 275x270mm. Signed by McLean and Gooding. Original black cloth illustrated in blind with a fold-out ladder. Housed in original black and white illustrated slipcase. Unpaginated. Twelve screenprints of ladders with, on the page opposite a short text describing an attribute of a ladder. For example: "Breughel's ladders are the tongues of Babel" and "It was used by cathedral builders and in the storming of castle walls" and "In dreams and visions it may reach up to Heaven be peopled by angels". Some very slight marking to the cover and to slipcase but otherwise a fine copy. Gooding and McLean worked together on a number of artists's books including Dreamwork (1985), A Scone Off a Plate (1990) and Knife Edge Academy: The Prospectus (1992).…
