In den WarenkorbZustand: Good. Circa 1893 date from verso which reads "Chicago Gets the Fair. You Get XXXX Coffee." most likely in reference to the World's Columbian Exposition, a world's fair held in Chicago during 1893 to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus's arrival in the New World. Chromolithographed trade card, 6-7/8 x… 5-1/5 inches wide, with "Decoration Day" (now Memorial Day) printed in lower left corner and "In Memor. of Our Departed Heros" in a memorial to the right of the baby's blue colored soldiers hat, "Shober & Carqueville Lith. Co. Chicago" (active 1876-1896) printed at lower right corner. Card with some wear, creases and wrinkles, a 1/4 inch closed tear to top edge and a 1/2 inch closed tear to right edge ; some toning and scuffs to verso. An uncommon and bright 19th century trade card, having obvious symbolism honoring the soldiers who died in the American Civil War.
