Taped to the front free endpaper of the first volume is a manuscript letter (folded twice, text in German) written by Gero Dolezalek in 1986 on letterhead from the Katholieke Universiteit of Nijmegen, Netherlands, in which he explains that his book has finally been published and is presenting it to a previous owner. This recipient has written below Dolezalek's writing in 1993 that he has received the books from his friend Gero and is passing the volumes on in hopes that the recipient will find them useful. Interiors of both volumes are clean and unmarked. Both bindings quite sound. All three microfiches are present in their envelopes in a pocket at the rear of the second volume.
