Also laid in is a copy of the address given at St. Andrews, Biggleswade on 20th October, 1985, at a service of thanksgiving, by Frederick H. Buller together with a printed and signed note from Ron Coleby (dated 26 Jan 86) to a former owner stating ".At last I have managed to have a photocopy made of the Richard Walker memorial address and this I enclose for your Walker collection." All in all a very interesting association copy that would make a fine addition to any Walker collection. .

(born Tulse Hill, London, 9 October 1892, died Chesham Bois, Buckinghamshire 21 September 1955) was an English artist, engraver and illustrator. R…ubáiyát over 63 pages carrying the 75 quatrains of Edward FitzGerald's version enriched with 4 full-page plates and 4 decorations by Stephen Gooden. The trade edition published in the same year contained the same plates, albeit were tipped-in and not full-page. Slight sun fading down the spine. Very Good condition book in Very Good peppermint green paper covered slip case carrying the correct limited edition number 36 for this book. Gooden's work can be found in the collections of the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, USA. Tennyson, Alfred Lord [Alfred Tennyson, 1st Baron Tennyson, FRS (6 August 1809 - 6 October 1892) was Poet Laureate of Great Britain and Ireland during much of Queen Victoria's reign and remains one of the most popular British poets]. Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington, KG, GCB, GCH, PC, FRS (1 May 1769 - 14 September 1852) was an Anglo-Irish soldier and Tory statesman who was one of the leading military and political figures of 19th-century Britain, serving twice as Prime Minister. He won a notable victory against Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.

First unimproved edition of this commemorative poem, written by Tennyson as Poet Laureate in publisher's original side stitched steel blue paper covers, black title lettering to the front cover. Subsequent editions resulted in a further 29 lines being added. 8vo. 8¾'' x 5½''. Wellington died at Walmer Castle…in Deal on 14 September 1852. This was his residence as Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports. Walmer Castle was said to have been his favourite residence. He was found to be unwell on that morning and was aided from his military campaign bed (the same one he used throughout his historic military career) and seated in his chair where he died. His death was recorded as being due to the after-effects of a stroke culminating in a series of seizures. He was aged 83. Contains 16 page elegy written by Tennyson while Poet Laureate. Odd spots to the pages, nothing heavy, light shelf rubbing to the rear cover and in Very Good sound and original condition. Member of the P.B.F.A. WELLINGTON, Duke of (1769-1852).
