Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Als private Unternehmung mit persönlicher Haftung organisierte Max Eiselin die Expedition, der am 13. Mai 1960 die Erstbesteigung des Dhaulagiri gelang. Es ist eine Geschichte, die uns zurück in die Vergangenheit führt, in die Zeit der großen Pioniere des Bergsteigens. Eiselin schildert seine Reise in einem kleinen Flugzeug über ganze Kontinente, mit vielen Zwischenlandungen an abenteuerlichen Orten, zu einer Zeit, als Reisen generell noch ein großes Abenteuer war. Am Dhaulagiri wurde mit diesem Kleinflugzeug ein bis heute gültiger Höhenlanderekord aufgestellt. Später stürzte das Flugzeug ab, erlitt einen Totalschaden und die Piloten mussten es zu Fuß vom Hochgebirge ins Tal schaffen. Last but not least der große Erfolg: Die Erstbesteigung des 13. Achttausenders, des damals höchsten noch unbestiegenen Bergs der Welt.
