Con el presente libro se busca describir el manejo quirúrgico de hemorroides internas en un centro de referencia de Manizales entre el 2010 al 2017. Se trata de un estudio retrospectivo, descriptivo, realizado con una población con diagnóstico de hemorroides grado II, III y IV, sometidos a hemorroidectomía entre el 2010 y 2017 en SES Hospital de Caldas de Manizales, con seguimiento a 12 meses. Se encontraron 809 pacientes diagnosticados, de los cuales 93 (11.5%) fueron intervenidos, 59.1% fueron hombres, con edad promedio 55,8 años, la principal indicación quirúrgica fué el sangrado (38.7%), dolor rectal (22.6%) y sensación de masa (15%). La mayoría correspondían a grado III (36.6%) y grado II (25.8%). La técnica convencional fue la más realizada (69.9%), y de ésta la técnica abierta de Milligan Morgan (61.3%), seguida de la técnica cerrada de Ferguson (8.6%). De las no convencionales (30.1%), el abordaje endoscópico para ligadura de bandas se utilizó en 20 pacientes (21.5%), bisturí Harmonico (4.3%) y con endograpadora PPH (4.3%).…
